we will notify you of our practices with respect to a particular study
at the time of the study.
In some areas of our site, we may provide adults or children with prior
parental permission with the opportunity to publicly disclose personal

personal information, or through your user profile display. Any such
postings are voluntary, and at the time of posting, you may be given the
opportunity to disguise your identity. Once disclosed publicly, your
information will be viewable by anyone who visits our site, and will not

them. If you disable cookies, some of our site features will not be available.

Special Note About Children and This Site
This website has been designed for the pleasure and enjoyment of children
and adults alike. VIZ Media S.A.R.L. recognizes its obligation under the Children’s
Online Privacy Protection Act with respect to collecting personal information
from young kids. VIZ Media S.A.R.L. also recognizes that some younger children
may not understand some of the information contained on the web site or
how the site operates. We encourage parents and guardians to talk to their
children so that they will understand how to use the site and the information
they may be asked to provide. We also encourage parents and guardians to
spend time online with their children, and to teach children to never give
our their name, address, or phone number over the Internet without permission.
Parents, to the extent that your children's information is being collected
on our site, it will be done subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy,
including this Special Note. In general, we do not collect more information
from children than is necessary for the child to participate in a given
activity, we allow parents to review and have their children's information
deleted, we do not as a general rule disclose children's personal information
to unaffiliated third parties unless we otherwise disclose to this to you
as part of obtaining your verifiable consent, and parents, you can refuse
to have more information collected from your child if you so choose.
In most areas of our site, we currently collect information from children
under 13 to respond one time to a direct request. Information collected
for this purpose may include a first name and email address, is not used
to re-contact the child after their request has been answered, and is not
stored. If we use children's information to respond more than once
to a direct request, we notify parents immediately after we first respond
to the child, and provide parents with the opportunity to tell us not to
make any further use of their children's information.
In some instances, we may allow children to become registered users of
our site or a feature at our site, and with these children we will
have an ongoing relationship. Before children can become registered
users, parents or the children's legal guardians must provide prior written
permission. To provide consent, the child’s parent or legal
guardian will be provided with a consent form, a copy of this privacy policy,
and a more fulsome notice describing that we wish to collect information
from your child, what types of information we will collect, how we will
use the information, whether it will be disclosed to third parties, and
that further collection from the child is conditioned on consent. The
consent form must be returned to VIZ Media S.A.R.L. by fax at 33(0)1 56 43 50 33
or by regular mail to VIZ Media S.A.R.L., 90 avenue des Champs-Elysées, 75008 Paris, FRANCE.
Once we receive the signed consent form, we
will ask the child for information that is reasonably necessary for the
child to participate in our online activities.
A parent or guardian can, at any time: (1) obtain a description of
the types of information collected from his or her child, (2) a means of
reviewing the child's personal information; (3) the ability to direct us
to delete information collected from the child, to the extent that we have
stored that information (whether we store your child's information is described
in this policy); (4) the ability to tell us not to collect any more information;
and, (5) if consent was given, the ability to revoke this earlier
consent. To do any of the foregoing, please contact us at the above address, and
be sure to include your child's name and e-mail address and your name and
e-mail address, and we will review and update your children's information
as appropriate. We will use appropriate security measures to ensure
that the person contacting us is the child's parent or legal guardian.
In the event that VIZ Media S.A.R.L. collects personal information from children
over 12 and under 18, VIZ Media S.A.R.L. may request a parental e-mail address
to notify the parent or guardian by e-mail of the child's activity.
Security Measures Used at This Site
If we collect sensitive information, such as payment information -- credit
card number, name, address, and so on -- we use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
to secure that the data you transfer online to us. SSL encrypts your data
before it is transmitted. If someone "listens in" on the wire,
they'll only get encrypted information. Although encryption can be
broken, it's not easy. The best encryption available requires that
your browser use a 128-bit key or better. Most modern commercial web browsers
handle encrypted communication, but some browsers don't. If your browser
cannot support secure transmissions, you may want to obtain a new browser,
such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. In addition
to online encryption of sensitive information, we also use reasonable internal
security measures in treating sensitive data, including conducting security
audits.
No site can offer you complete protection, however, and we encourage you
to take measures to protect your own information. For example, consider
only using credit cards to make online purchases, not debit cards. In
most cases, your credit card company won't charge you for a charge you
didn't make. At most, you typically will not be liable for more than $50
on any charge made fraudulently on your card, as long as you notify your
credit card company in a timely fashion. If you're interested in
finding out more about encryption issues and the politics of encryption,
take a look at the Electronic Privacy Information Center.

policy by email, or, if you have provided us with other contact information,
